Habits... They exist!

Today I'm not gonna write Quote of the Day.

This time it's gonna be Quotes of the Day. Why?

“We first make our habits, and then our habits make us.”  -John Dryden
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”  -Aristotle

Today is the last day of the week and I'm quite happy that I did my best to make it productive. It wasn't my plan though to make it like this. I just made new habits. I was a discovery. And new habits made new habits. And it made me more self-disciplined. Believe me, there's no magic in it and all I had to do was just starting something little and continue doing it.
It was on 31st of December I discovered This free-to-register website was created in order to help people to not procrastinate in writing and write 750 words (not less) everyday. It says:

"The idea is that if you can get in the habit of writing three pages a day, that it will help clear your mind and get the ideas flowing for the rest of the day."

So, starting from the first day of the year I began writing 750 words everyday. I failed only in the first day as I was in hangover.
Anyways, the habit of writing everyday in "750words" helped me a lot to make a new habit and learn something new everyday. Yes, habits are connected to each other in a way that they create a new discipline. I wasn't washing my teeth everyday, just only when they were turning yellow. But I started that habit of washing them everyday without any procrastination and very successfully. Now I don't procrastinate playing my guitar even for a day and when I don't feel like doing it, I just take it and tell myself that I'll make it short only for 5 minutes of exercising my fingers. Yes, it works! Then I started making body exercises everyday. And I have time for all of these.

I remember a Buddhist quote saying:

"If you don't like doing something and it bores you, do it for a minute. If it's still boring, make it for 5 minutes. If it's still boring for you, make it for an hour. Do it in that pace and soon you'll discover that it wasn't really that boring."

That quote is about our everyday life of procrastination. Just to everything like this everything that bores you and soon you'll know that it was your ego trying to sit you down in your place and stay relaxed and not doing anything and blaming everything around. "Oh, I didn't have time for it" or "I don't feel like doing it today" are ridiculous and YOU REALLY KNOW IT. You knew it all your life and this is the right time to change it. Nothing is stopping you, except you. Everything is just an illusion. Most of us are just in a habit of procrastination. Just change this one, other habits will come one by one as you will wish.
