The Magic of Writing Things Down

Each second our minds roam unimaginable roads of thought universe, leaving us many questions to answer and many tasks to handle. We are so used to it, that we consider it as a part of our everyday life. Chaos of thoughts has become part of our habits. Instead of focusing on this process of thinking and get back to what we really have to do, we start chasing them and start looking for something new. It is some kind of "facebook" which was created by our brain. There is so much information there and so many links, ads, pics we just keep "clicking" them until we suddenly wake up of this madness. That would sound great for an alien who has just landed to Earth to learn about people, but unfortunately, that is the main reason why we don't get anything done.

After reading many articles on mind focusing and distraction-free techniques, I came to conclusion that the best practice that works best for me is - writing my thoughts and ideas down on my journal.
It all started when I got so many tasks at hand, I suddenly realized that it was too much for me to take. It was not a pleasure anymore, but a burden. Guitar playing, preparing to IELTS, recording music, blogging, doing my job tasks, working on my new website, learning how to sing, book reading to name a few.
I decided to write them down and select only up to 5 options which I really need to do and most important. That was magic. I didn't do anything special afterward, but I got such an insight, that I was like enlightened person who knew what he has to do. Everything was obvious for me now and I only needed to keep this power in me.

Days later I started taking notes ever morning on what I wanted/had to do during the day. Again it was unbelievably practical and reasonable. Now I didn't have to make excuses until I gave up doing anything and being lazy for all the day. Just three things written down on my journal and everything was clear. I got my trust back, I knew what I was doing and it wasn't something random. Finally, there was a clear focus.
The reason why we change our minds later and keep doing useless things is that we think about many things to do and we end up nowhere. However writing notes will stay there until you erase them. That's why it's better to make things written down. It will be your friend who will remind you of your better self. This approach worked for me and I'm sure it will be useful for you too.

If you know something better to get focused, share it in the comments section below!
